Search Email - Use Xobni on your Inbox
Now this one is not really related to virtualisation but is something I thought I’d share with you anyway as I’ve been using it to great effect recently.
I often find myself searching for emails that I recieved in the past or one that I know I sent and has the content someone is looking for. Finding these emails can be a nightmare but a little application called Xobni makes this a whole lot easier. A consultant introduced this to me recently and I thought I’d give it a shot, what a difference it has made to how I use outlook.
Xobni extracts information about users who you have sent and recieved email from, it provides analytics on when these people send you emails, the volumes of email back and forth and their overall rank. it does some smart things like bundle up conversations so you can quickly search through and track whats been said. It will also list all attachments that have been sent by the selected person, very handy and a feature I’ve used a number of times.
You can download it by visiting the website http://www.xobni.com/. It works best in cached exchange mode but I use it with outlook configured with a remote exchange server and this works fine for me though it does warn that this can cause outlook performance issues.
